The Quispamsis Moosehead Oldtimers Hockey League was formed in 1983 by Emil Olsen and Lou Corkum. Play began in the 1983-84 season at the new Quispamsis Memorial Arena with 4 teams.

The league expanded to 6 teams for the 2010-11 season and moved all games to the new Qplex at the start of the 2011-12 season.
